Traffic Smarter, a new Advertising Oppertunity, does it work?

Traffic Smarter is a new site that says it guarantees more CONVERTING web visitors and online advertising with very little effort or cost.  So I decided to put it to the test…

My first impression was the site looks professional and clean, with an attractive look and feel.  It is easy to read and understand.  Joining the site was easy and painless–they do offer 2 upgrade options but they are not required to gain the benefits.

The Members Area is very well laid out and intuitive–I could figure out what to do after only a few minutes and was able to get up and running in less than 5 minutes.  Inside the site, you create links and ads–the links you simply enter any URL links you use into the generator and it transforms them into “Traffic Smarter” links.  You create ads for anything you want to promote using the Traffic Smarter Ad Generator, which is very easy to use.  You can create as many links and as many ads as you like.  And they are organized in a logical way–links are displayed in the order you create them but also your 5 most recent links appear on the main page for quick reference.  Also, since the link generator is the tool you’ll use most, it is also right at the top of the main page when you login.  Very smart!

After you’ve created at least 1 link and 1 ad you can start to generate traffic.  Just use and promote the new Traffic Smarter link instead of the original source link you had.  Every time the Traffic Smarter link is clicked, the page loads followed by a cool slide-up ad window at the bottom.  It displays an ad PLUS an image with your affiliate link that goes back to Traffic Smarter.  So if anyone clicks the Traffic Smarter image they see the site, and if they signup they become your referral.  It’s a great viral feature because you can build referrals without even trying to just by using the site.

Now every time the ad window displays (your Traffic Smarter links get clicked) you earn credits that get YOUR ad displayed in the ad windows when other members’ links get clicked.  So the more clicks, the more times your ads get displayed.

And this works virally–meaning as you make referrals into Traffic Smarter (either by promoting it or just using it and visitors click the Traffic Smarter image on the ad window to join) you also earn ad credits on THEIR link clicks.  And this works up to 5 levels deep.  So you can create a massive amount of free ad views and web traffic by referring others to Traffic Smarter also.

I didn’t get to test the full effect of a big downline yet (I just got the tool) but I can tell you the rest of the site works exactly as stated–my links got clicked, I earned credits, and my ads got displayed.  Traffic Smarter even tracked my results so I know how many clicks and how many ad displays.  That was an impressive unadvertised extra feature.

There is one more benefit and feature which might be the best of them all–downline emailing.  You can email your downline with offers, promotions, or whatever you like, and here is where Traffic Smarter really shines.  They took time to make the emailing often enough that it’s valuable as a user, but no so often that it’s a burden to your downline.  But the best part about this feature (and actually the credit earning too) is that it tells you exactly how long until you can mail again.  Now THAT’s cool.

Overall I have to say I am impressed with Traffic Smarter.  It is simple yet powerful, and delivers on its promises.  Highly recommended to anyone who wants to increase traffic and advertising.

Finally Here, An Honest Review Site That Rewards You For Your Comments – Part 2

If you have seen part 1 of this article you would know that I have joined a free review site that allows you and the Internet Marketing Community to comment, rate, and review products, services, people (Gurus) and business opprtunities.

This is an invaluable service to the IM community as far as I am concerned. One of the great features is a free toolbar that actually rates a program when you visit the website, provided the program is in the data base. Another great feature is that if you can,t find the information in the data base you can suggest it for review.

As well as joining for free and having info and product ratings at your fingertips, you actually get rewarded for review suggestions, grading, and comments of your experience with a product. You gain credits for the activity you perform and these credits are able to be cashed in on a one for one basis.

It is well known that there are many ripoff merchants and products out there. This service is timely. A disturbing excerpt taken from the website appears below and will really make you think about the industry.

“The ‘Make Money Online’ industry’s dirty little secret:

Many of the most highly promoted Internet marketing and “make money online” products and services are developed and “launched” by a relatively small group of people. These are the so-called “gurus.” There are about 20-30 people that fall into this group.

And then there are another 50-100 smaller players who operate a little differently, but essentially do the same thing. If you’re sick of being lied to, cheated, and scammed by all of the unethical “make money online” marketers out there, you NEED to get involved with IM Report Card. Nothing is ever going to change unless we all do something about it. Sure you’re busy, we know that. So are we. But we’ve spent a lot of time and money creating this site anyway, because we want to see things change.

Now having given all the positives there is just one drawback that I have found, and that is that unless a website or product is lower than 300,000 Alexa rank IM Report Card wont rate it. Two sides to this: a – it can mean that the product is so low that its not worth bothering about because not enough users will have experience to comment, or b: – you bypass a really good product that is just getting off the ground. I think though that as more people join and the data base fills IM Report Card will be the first source of reference for every affiliate marketer out there.

Make use of the free toolbar as it makes it even easier, and provides valuable info about the marketing sites you come across as you surf the web, so you’ll never get scammed again!

Moving scams are usually associated with second rate moving companies, and most people assume that the big companies are beyond reprieve. But is that really the case?

You can gain interesting insight on this question by a careful examination of the online consumer review site. I picked one called epinion.com, which had reviews for a total of 115 moving companies. I decided to look at the reviews for Wheaton Van Lines. Wheaton is a big name company. It was 16 out of 115 on the rating list, and yet it had less than a 3 star rating. I looked through the consumer reviews. I found that only 9/52 customers were totally satisfied with Wheaton. Out of the other 43, not one gave a rating over 2 1/2 stars. So while it was possible to get perfect service with Wheaton, the odds were greatly against it.

So what were customer comments like? One customer, who gave a 2 1/2 star rating, had a good experience while moving in one direction. But when he made the return move with Wheaton he had a terrible time. The movers for the return trip didn’t even have the proper loading equipment when they came to make the move.

Customer # 11 gave Wheaton a 2 star rating, and complained that the company was one man short when they finally delivered his goods to NYC; , and they hired a neighbor who had no professional moving experience to help them.

Every other of the 41 customers gave Wheaton a 1 star rating or less. What did these customers say?
Here are a few samples of the ratings: “Dishonest, ripoff artists, careless, stole things, bad attitudes” “Unreliable, Dishonest, delayed, breach of contract, harassment, lied about their own liability.” “If you care for your valuables, DO NOT HIRE- you will be terribly disappointed.” “Words cannot explain how much I dislike this company.” “Not very responsive or professional,” “In my view, questionable business practices, false Promises, careless handling of property, run-around tactics” “Customer service, lack of respect, breach of contract” “Driver late; slow loading; low-ball estimate, sloppy unloading; no apology for under-estimate”.

Is Thesis Premium WordPress Theme Worth All The Fuss?

If you have even a tenuous connection with the blogosphere, by now you have probably heard about the Thesis Theme for WordPress. Well, I bought into the hype and purchased Thesis for my blogs.

What I’d like to do now is take you through what I learned about Thesis by actually using it on 3 commercial blogs.

The three major selling points for Thesis are it’s SEO abilities, it’s ease of customization and it’s extensive support community. I’ll tackle these in order and let you know how well Thesis does for each. Long story short, it delivers what it says it will.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization): Thesis fulfills its promise of more effective SEO. After installing Thesis Theme my blog traffic jumped. I made a rookie mistake when buying a domain for my first blog and got the .net version of a domain I later discovered had a .com already (I won’t try and give you the domains of all my websites because I’m not trying to push anything here!). For this blog, once I installed Thesis my site actually started outranking the .com version in Google! My two other blogs are much smaller and sales oriented and neither was making me any money (Literally! The traffic just wasn’t there) until I installed Thesis, and took advantage of the SEO functionality. Of course Thesis isn’t the only reason my traffic jumped, its not a magic bullet, but it makes your SEO efforts much more productive when it comes to being noticed. It definitely makes SEO more user-friendly and lot less tedious.

Customization: Thesis is pretty good here too. Its simple to customize the way you like, and is great for changing those annoying things you just can’t get right in your free theme. It’s a simple matter of a few clicks to choose the number or layout of columns in your blog, for example, an extremely powerful feature. I used three columns for my .net blog and one column for my two sales blogs and in each case it took less than thirty seconds to set everything out the way I wanted. Other design elements such as colors, header logos, and background pictures/colors can be edited pretty easily too, though they require a bit of text editing. This feature will probably be available in the next version without having to edit (you get free lifetime updates with your purchase anyway) but I’ve put a free guide together on how to do this for anyone to use in the mean time. See below if you’re interested.

Support Community/Documentation: This is where Thesis shines. The support community is fantastic; if you ever have any problem with Thesis you will be able to grab hold of someone in a forum and get help within no time. There isn’t a single great repository of info that I know of, that’s why I put together the design guide so whenever I create a new blog for myself or a client, I can just copy and paste in the design changes I require. The forums are great but I’d rather have clear instructions and work things out myself than have to ask someone, every time I want to set up a change, however nice or knowledgeable they are.

Bottom line, would I recommend Thesis Theme for WordPress? Yep, absolutely, it definitely delivers on what it says it will do, and that’s all I really ask from a product. It is suitable for anyone who wants their blog to look good and be looked at, for whatever reason. Also, I would recommend it to friends and consider it good value compared to outsourcing my SEO, PHP and CSS work. I feel a lot more comfortable taking care of that stuff myself in the interests of privacy, convenience, and ultimately cost in not having to continually liaise with a designer to get my blog looking just right. Anyway, I hope this review has helped you to make an informed decision.
